CHALLENGE

Savills were instructed by Birmingham Airport to carry out a valuation of land in and around the airport that might have been required to deliver the expansion of the airport.

SOLUTION

Savills undertook a Property Cost Estimate for the acquisiiton of land required to facilitate the expansion of the airport.

It was assumed that the airport would utilise CPO powers to acquire the land and rights and our valuations were prepared on the basis that the land had been acquired compulsorily and in accordance with the body of statute and case law commonly referred to as the Compensation Code.

RESULTS

A Property Cost Estimate was prduced which the Airport could utiltise in assessing the likely costs of airport expansion, in terms of both the land acquisition costs, and also as part of the costs of the wider scheme. This enabled the airport to make an informed decision of whether the expansion was viable or not.
