Savills reviewed the electric vehicle charging market in the UK and its relationship to property in order to identify opportunities for market investment.

We reviewed the key characteristics of different EV charging markets including office, industrial, residential, town centre, motorway services and petrol filling stations, retail and leisure.

CHALLENGE
Key issues include availability of electricity capacity.

SOLUTION
Solutions include smoothing demand with e.g. battery storage and grid spare capacity analysis.

RESULTS
We concluded that key variables are dwell time and price. We identified significant opportunities in areas including municipal and town centre car parks, office parks and industrial estates.
