Dolphin Hotel, Southampton

The Dolphin Hotel is Grade II* listed and located on Southampton's High Street. Jane Austen celebrated her 18th birthday here. Savills gained planning permission to repurpose the building into quality student accomodation as the hotel was no longer viable. The scheme includes a publicly accessible Jane Austen intepretation centre and cafe.

Oakhaven Hospice, Lymington

Proposals to include the development of an Education Pavilion and redevelopment of the single-storey in-patient unit into a 2.5 storey unit with improved staff facilities. The exemplary training facilities for medical professionals meant that exceptional circumstances could apply to this Green Belt site.

Lower Bryanston Farm, Blandford Forum

Reserved matters secured for 75 new homes. The key challenge included ensuring the detailed layout, landscaping and design of the scheme respected the design parameters set by the Council in the outline planning permission, whilst also delivering a market-facing and deliverable scheme.

Poole Hospital Endoscopy Unit, Poole

Full planning permission granted for a new two-storey hospital building comprising Endoscopy Services. There were significant challenges to overcome on site in respect of impact on TPO protected trees, ecology and BNG considerations, drainage infrastructure and site levels.

River Hamble Watersports

Secured full planning consent for two containers and an associated area of decking. Due to the location, the operation attracted initial objection from both the Council’s Ecologist and Natural England. In close liaison with Bird Aware Solent and the Hamble Harbour Master an operational mitigation package was devised.

Rock Lane, Hastings

Achieved resolution to grant consent for major development within the High Weald National Landscape for 26 dwellings and associated access and landscaping.

Walkford Moor Solar Farm, New Milton

Planning permission for a 15 MW solar farm on 74.1 acre of Green Belt land. The site posed several challenges, however received unanimous support. Overall, the case officer considered that adverse impacts upon the landscape and visual amenity could be outbalanced by the scheme’s benefits, including reducing carbon emissions and providing 232% BNG.

Stanhope Lines West and School End, Wellesley

Achieved reserved matters consent for 260 new homes, including 33% affordable homes and a linear park. The scheme preserves and enhances the Aldershot Military Conservation Area, and delivers the next phase of the Wellesley Development of 3,850 dwellings.

Welford Park Estate, Newbury

Secured delegate consent for the conversion and extension of a cart shed to form a new site office. The application presented a robust needs case for the conversion majoring on the cultural and economic impact on the local area, driving a substantial economic impact for local businesses, and the pressing operational needs of the Estate for modern office and meeting space.
