At Savills, we love celebrating and learning. As a result, we have a calendar of events which our employees can participate in. These either celebrate key dates or give the opportunity to broaden understanding by learning about diversity topics. Our six groups have yearly plans of activities and we always try to take an intersectional approach where appropriate, such as celebrating Black Pride, and looking at men’s mental health.
This year we are celebrating and encouraging participation in a number of key dates such as Race Equality Week, National Apprenticeship Week, International Women’s Day, Intergenerational Working Week, Pride, South Asian Heritage Month, National Inclusion Week, Black History Month, International Day of Persons with Disabilities and many more. We have also published many educational communications on key religious and cultural events such as Easter, Ramadan, Menopause awareness day and Diwali.

International Women’s Day (IWD) took place on Saturday 8th March, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s theme was ‘accelerating action’, emphasising the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. Savills is a proud supporter of the event, undertaking a number of initiative across the global business.

Savills marks international Day of Persons with Disabilities, an annual global observance day promoted by the United Nations. Today Savills is marking International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a UN day that is celebrated every year on 3 December. The day is about promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilising support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Black History Month (BHM) is an annual celebration of the history, achievements and contributions of Black people in the UK. This year, the BHM theme is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ and Savills hosted a number of events across the UK in commemoration of the month long celebration.
This year the theme for National Inclusion Week is #ImpactMatters – a call-to-action for all to create inclusive workplaces and celebrate. It gave us the perfect occasion to consider our impact and journey as a business, while also organising some events and opportunities to continue developing our inclusive culture – all to make impact.

The Savills Ethnicity Group recently sponsored the second Gen Z Club Real Estate Conference in London. The Gen Z Club is a community that aims to inspire, empower and connect young people through workshops, events and sharing resources. The conference gave guests the opportunity to network and explore possible careers in property development, luxury property, property marketing and property entrepreneurship.
Savills Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Chanelle Gray, picked up the Head of Diversity & Inclusion of the Year Award at the British Diversity Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The awards celebrate leading diversity and inclusion champions, recognising achievements over the past year across ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and religious beliefs.

Savills won the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Programme of the Year at the first-ever Inspiring Women in Property Awards hosted by Property Week. The award recognises the programme Savills offers to students from diverse backgrounds, which has grown exponentially in the last two years.
Here at Savills, we’ll be coming together in support of the LGBTQ+ community to reflect on the importance of celebrating different perspectives. We’re committed to helping our colleagues thrive, by upholding a culture where visibility, inclusivity and acceptance are at its core. Savills is proud to announce the launch of an official partnership with AKT which is the LGBTQ+ network’s chosen charity for 2023/24.
