Former Pizza Express on Broad Street, Alresford, set to become new bar and restaurant

Savills, on behalf of the landlord, has agreed the letting of 32 Broad Street in Alresford, near Winchester, to Glaister Inns Limited, owners of The Three Horseshoes in Bighton. The property will be turned into a high-end bar and restaurant called The Town House Alresford, with private hire dining and co-working space on the upper floors.

The character Grade II listed building, which was formerly let to Pizza Express, is arranged over basement and three upper floors with internal areas totalling approximately 3,770 sq ft (350 sq m), with the whole plot extending approximately 0.42 acres (0.17 hectares). The property will be split into separate trading areas with the front of the building serving coffees, breakfasts, light-lunches and brunch to eat in or takeaway. The remaining ground floor rooms will become a bar and restaurant. The rooms on the first floor will be transformed into private dining rooms and co-working space, which will be available for private hire. The garden will provide additional drinking, dining and events space.

The property is located in the attractive Georgian market town of Alresford, approximately 62 miles south west of London and nine miles east of Winchester, and three miles from  Bighton. The property occupies a central location on Broad Street close to the junction of West Street. Alresford is well known for its range of boutique independent retailers, such as Alresford Linen Company, which are located on the two main thoroughfares. The property is conveniently located on pleasant tree-lined street close to hospitality operators including Pulpo Negro, Caracoli and The Horse & Groom P/H. Tesco Express is also in the vicinity.

Glaister Inns Limited was established in 2021 when Henry Glaister and Minnie Hawley acquired The Three Horseshoes in Bighton. Henry and Minnie have extensive hospitality and high-end events experience.

Henry Glaister, Director at Glaister Inns Limited: “We are excited to open up our second venue in my hometown of Alresford and build on the success we have created at The Three Horseshoes.
