A day in the life of...a rotating graduate

Personal Profile

Name: Hele Griffiths

Age: 23

Property pathway: Commercial

Current team: Valuation

Background

I studied Geography (BA Hons) at the University of Exeter, after which I completed Real Estate MSc at the University of Reading. I joined the Savills graduate scheme in September 2017 based in London and to date my rotations include hotel valuation, retail property management, city agency and valuation.

TYPICAL DAY

A typical day in the office can vary hugely depending on the projects I am involved in, including tasks such as inspecting and measuring properties, report writing, communicating with agents and meeting clients, in addition to running valuations and development appraisals.

BEST THING ABOUT your role

The best thing about my job is the teams of people that I work with. Rotating every four months allows you to work alongside so many different people which helps to establish a broad contact base in the business and get involved with a variety of projects.

out of office

I like to keep active and enjoy a range of sports including cycling, hockey and kitesurfing. This year I participated in a number of triathlons, including the JLL Property Triathlon.

wHAT DO YOU THINK OF SAVILLS AS A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT?

Savills provides a great platform upon which to start your career with access to a range of both work and social opportunities. There is a lot of support throughout the two years leading up to your APC and you also have the chance to work abroad for one of your rotations.
