James joined Savills in 1995 as a graduate and now works from the Bath and Bristol offices. He specialises in valuations, expert witness instructions and wider consultancy projects. James is head of Savills' rural and residential consultancy team across central southern England.
James provides freehold and leasehold valuations of residential (prime properties and mainstream portfolios), rural and agricultural properties. He values for loan security, taxation, matrimonial, leasehold enfranchisement and negotiation purposes. His considerable experience has led to many expert witness instructions and he has given evidence in court on a number of occasions.
Compulsory purchase is also an area of James' practice, with instructions in respect of the A303 improvements in Somerset and a longstanding involvement at Hinkley Point in Somerset, acting for EDF Energy.
Within Savills, James sits on the south of England management board for the rural division and chairs the rural division's expert witness group.  He also sits on the company wide expert witness steering group.
