SUMMARY
Savills has provided development consultancy services to numerous solar developers for the last decade during the Government stimulated subsidy regimes and more recently the merchant power development market, along with private wire and sleeved solutions.
REQUIREMENT
Our development clients have needed the provision of services for the identification of appropriate sites to meet their development scope along with the expertise and experience of land right negotiations. In many instances where our clients do not have the in-house or existing resource we have also provided full planning services.
SOLUTION
Savills has had a dedicated delivery team for energy development which has been in place for over 20 years, providing services for wind development, solar, biomass and AD.
We have developed in-house GIS services to help with the identification screening and scoping of suitable and appropriate sites. This service is then combined with our land referencing services to provide a comprehensive, land identification programme.
The in-house Savills Energy team is then able to negotiate on behalf of our development clients the necessary land rights using highly experienced personnel familiar with our clients requirements in forming bankable Option and Lease agreements.
RESULTS
The Savills Energy team has delivered to its solar development clients on over 500MW of solar sites, ranging in size from 4MWp to 50MWp, across multiple sites throughout the UK.
The Savills Energy team is also engaged on several NSIP scale proposed solar developments, ranging from 250-650MWp.
Our planning team in conjunction has achieved over 600MWp of consented sites within solar development.
