Savills was instructed by its client, LaSalle Investment Management, to manage the installation of rooftop solar Photo Voltaic (PV) systems. This formed part of a larger portfolio review for LaSalle managed assets.

The installations were completed in order to improve the financial return to the client, increase the marketability of the assets and meet the fund’s sustainability objectives.

The systems total a combined capacity of 820 kWp and cover 12,316 sq ft of roof space. This energy supplies the common parts of the buildings, reducing the service charge cost by c. 25%.

OUTCOMES

Financial – following completion of the installation, the system will provide index-linked secure income for 20 years, yielding 9%. This is in addition to the reduction in the cost of the electricity serving the common parts.

Sustainability – the systems helped the buildings move towards a higher EPC rating and will reduce operational energy costs for the tenants.
