CHALLENGE

Navigating the client and project through a turbulent period for consenting renewable energy projects in Wales, with changes in tact from regulatory bodies on matters such as peat, best and most versatile land and biodiversity net benefit, amongst others.

SOLUTION

Savills worked closely with statutory and non-statutory consultees to identify and resolve areas of conflict at an early stage. Notably, this included working with the Local Planning Authority and other public sector consultees to identify an agreed approach.

RESULTS

The DNS application was submitted to PEDW in June 2023 and approved in December 2024. The application was subject to an extended validation period; one period of suspension and delayed determination.
