CHALLENGE
To help the University secure further land allocation from Wokingham District Council and to explore the economic benefits of different development scenarios at the site.
SOLUTION
Based on this analysis, Savills developed a series of development scenarios for different land use mixes and land-takes of RBIP. The work included a regional property market study and an economic benefits assessment for the project exploring the different development scenarios.
RESULTS
Savills was commissioned by University of Reading to develop their vision for Royal Berkshire Innovation Park (RBIP) through a market opportunity assessment. Part of the scope of this work was to help the University secure further land allocation from Wokingham District Council. The vision for RBIP is for a large innovation park centred around four clusters of activities: film & media, health & life sciences, innovation & technology, and heritage & arts. The opportunity for each sector was investigated researching market and inward investment trends, global demand drivers, related historic and future property development.
