Savills advised England 2015 on all planning aspects of the Rugby World Cup 2015.
For this project, Savills prepared a strategy for all venues and training bases assessing planning requirements, deliverables and programme. This involved coordinating applications at key stadia including Twickenham, the Olympic Stadium and Kingsholm (Gloucester).
As the centre of the event, Twickenham required substantial changes to accommodate tournament overlay, including media facilities, hospitality venues, car parking, security requirements and transport changes. In addition, Savills successfully secured approval for the first ‘night games’ at Twickenham.
Savills role as lead advisers mirrored the similar responsibilities across all venues for the London 2012 Olympics.
