International real estate advisor Savills has advised Amesbury Abbey Care Homes Limited on the successful sale of Winton House at Nether Wallop, Stockbridge, Hampshire to Learn 2 Live Youth Clinic Ltd, for an undisclosed sum.
Winton House is grade II listed country house designed by Winchester based architect Owen Browne Carter (1806 –1859) who also designed a number of public buildings, such as The Corn Exchange in Winchester and several townhouses and estates in particular Nork House in Nork Park in Banstead, Surrey.
It is understood that Winton House was requisitioned by the Ministry of Defense during the 2nd World War and provided an Operations Room centre. The property was established as a care home in the early 1970’s by way of a sympathetic conversion of the main house and the accommodation was later extended in the 1990’s.
The property includes a main house, converted stables, garages and outbuildings. The accommodation totals 25,572sq ft (2,375.64sq m) GIA and sits within a site equating approximately 10.23 acres (4.12 hectares).
