Savills York has announced the appointment of Georgina Watson as a director in the Rural Management team.

Georgina, who is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) has joined the York office as part of Savills commitment to strengthen their management team delivering a wide range of professional services in the North.

Georgina has over 15 years’ experience acting for landed estates, farm businesses and charity landholdings across Yorkshire and has a wealth of knowledge dealing with rural landlord and tenant matters, valuation, rural planning and business succession advice. In addition Georgina has first-hand experience of the agricultural sector, living on the family farm near Wetherby.

She comments: “I am really pleased to be joining the team at Savills York. I am looking forward to meeting existing clients and generating new business opportunities. At Savills I know I will have the resources and support to develop these opportunities for all clients in an ever changing and demanding industry. Savills has a superb reputation, not just locally but nationally and internationally so I am very proud to be part of the team and look forward to what the future holds.”

In her spare time, along with family, Georgina is Director & Chair of Tockwith & District Agricultural Society Limited which hosts an annual agricultural show in August each year. She is also Secretary of East Riding of Yorkshire Agricultural Valuers, and is an examiner for the CAAV.

Matthew Watson, director and head of office at Savills in York, adds: “Georgina’s excellent reputation precedes her and we feel very privileged to have her as part of the team. The experience she brings, both from inside and outside work will be invaluable to our clients, but Georgina’s passion for the training and development of less experienced colleagues will also undoubtedly be a huge benefit to the continued growth of our team.”
