Conwy Construction Company Carry Out Vital Local Community Projects

A new traveller’s site has been granted planning permission in Conwy County. Construction work is already underway and the project is estimated for completion by the end of the month.

A requirement for a traveller’s site was identified in Conwy County following an assessment. It is necessary for Local Authorities in Wales to provide such areas when sufficient need is cited. The Housing (Wales) Act 2014 places a duty on all local authorities to make sure that the accommodation needs of Travellers are properly assessed and the need for pitches is met.

This is an exciting project for the area as the first residential Traveller site to be built in Conwy. Planning permission was received last April for the project and £542,000 is being invested into the site by a Welsh Government Sites Capital Grant.

Renowned local construction company Brenig were chosen to carry out the work to develop the new site. They are the subcontractor to carry out the traveller site works on behalf of the Principal Contractor and the Local Authority.

Brenig Construction have made a name for themselves in the North Wales construction industry for their innovation, dedication to their local community and ability to deliver major projects consistently on time and on budget.

2015 was a great year for the Brenig Construction team with the acquisition of many exciting new contracts, including the traveller’s site. The Brenig staff have worked hard and made excellent progress on the construction of the site.

This will be the first residential Traveller site in the Borough and it is already nearing completion. The construction of proper traveller’s sites has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of illegal sites popping up, making it much easier for local authorities to enforce against unauthorised encampments.

Brenig’s work on the site will provide four pitches, offering safe, secure, safe living conditions with improved modern facilities.
Cartrefi Conwy will be managing the site after its completion.

We cannot wait to see the next project by this talented local construction firm in North Wales.
