Savills

Sustainability, Energy and Engineering (SEE)

Property sits at the heart of everything.  Since the dawn of humanity, land, shelter and energy have been at the centre of human development. At Savills we understand how critical it is to adapt the way we manage land and property to achieve next zero targets as currently around 40% of carbon emissions in the UK come from buildings alone. This is a complex issue that will take decades to solve but it offers exciting career opportunities with real purpose that will radically change how humans interact with the natural and built environment.

As the largest real estate company in the UK, we have a unique and exciting opportunity to reshape the property sector and help avoid catastrophic climate change. This is why Savills has set up the SEE Graduate Programme to spearhead our net zero offerings with the aim of stimulating and inspiring change within real estate. For any graduate, we believe Savills offers an exciting opportunity where we can blend the best of surveying, engineering and sustainability knowledge as we head on the next zero pathway between now and 2050. On the Savills Board today, 40% of our UK Board started at Savills as graduates. We want to provide the same opportunities to today’s graduates who want to tackle climate change so that Savills remains at the forefront of the real estate sector within a net zero economy.

Within the Savills SEE Graduate Programme there are three work streams as detailed below. Graduates on a chosen pathway will secure the stipulated qualification for that pathway from the AEE, CIBSE or ISEP with all membership costs paid for by Savills. There are large areas of crossover between the three qualification routes and graduates may be provided with the opportunity to work across the three work streams within Savills SEE programme where they have the appropriate degree qualification to do so.

If you're a recent graduate just starting out in your career or an experienced engineer looking to advance your career, getting started on the path to membership and registration can be daunting. Joining our Training & Development scheme gives you access to a formal support system and a well-defined mechanism. It will enable you to collect evidence throughout the course of your career, rather than only at the beginning. You will have a mentor who will support and guide you throughout the two year training programme. They will discuss your training and experience needs at regular progress reviews, ensuring you receive the support you require. Applicants who have participated in our scheme typically find that they are ready to apply for membership sooner and that the procedure is simpler for them.
