VU.CITY is a fully interactive digital city platform that presents macro and micro 3D views of our cities and their hidden values.
This revolutionary design and masterplanning tool is the largest and most accurate of its kind. It uses innovative game engine technology to map cities and their buildings, allowing anyone working in planning and development to put proposals into context quickly and precisely.
Using continually updated data, VU.CITY brings the whole field of planning and development into the digital age, taking away the need for physical models and CGIs to help visualise the future of property.
It's not just an overview of cities that the platform offers. Users are able to view, rotate and zoom from a whole area right down to a specific detail of a building or walk around at street level. It even allows users to change the time of day to see the impact of shadows.
VU.CITY can analyse viewing corridors, massing models as part of feasibility and pre-application processes. It can highlight the most affected views for townscape and visual impact assessments along with many other uses, and can even be installed and used on regular desktops and laptops for everyday use. Additionally, its ability to extrude volumes within the software now means that ideas can be visualised and queried in concept meetings.
All this adds up to saving time and money, and overall results in better decision making.
VU.CITY has the whole of London modelled – all 1,619 square kilometres of it. It is fully aligned with the draft London Plan and recently released draft NPPF, too. Other major city centres are also covered, including New York, Paris, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Brighton and Oxford.
VU.CITY is one Grosvenor Hill Ventures, Savills Plc autonomous investment subsdiary, portfolio companies. More information including how to license can be found at vu.city.
